On to the TLDR. If you're looking for a well priced PRS optic, this definitely checks a lot of boxes. However, as indicated in our review policy, free samples don't constitute a positive-only review free of criticism, and we found a couple of potentially serious caveats that may or may not matter to you - and they're not just in this optic but others we have tested - including those we paid for ourselves. Read on, and decide for yourself.
Overview
The ED-PRS Gen II 5-25x56 is a first-focal-plane precision riflescope built around a 34 mm tube and 56 mm objective. It features a zero stop, side parallax adjustment from 25 yards to infinity, and is available in both MRAD and MOA versions. The MRAD model uses 0.1 MRAD clicks with 36 MRAD of elevation travel and 17 MRAD of windage. Discovery lists the scope at roughly 16.3 inches long and 44.3 ounces, or 1,260 grams. It is nitrogen filled (or purged, depending on whether you go by the product page or blog), IP67 waterproof rated, and rated by Discovery for recoil up to .50 BMG.
In short, this is clearly intended for precision and PRS use rather than as a lightweight hunting optic. And it can excel in that category - but as mentioned above, there are caveats. And we discuss them in detail below, as well as in the video above.
